One of the big 3-D releases coming later this year is “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole.” Directed by Zack Snyder, the man behind “300″ and 2011 release “Sucker Punch,” the story will follow the events laid out in the first three books in author Kathryn Lasky’s 15-book series. The star of the show is Soren (voiced by Jim Sturgess), an young owl who is taken in by St. Aggie’s, a supposed orphanage which actually brainwashes owls for their own nefarious purposes. Soren realizes what’s going on and escapes with the new friends he makes there, setting out on a journey to the island of Ga’Hoole. He hopes to enlist the aid the noble owls there to free the brainwashed residents of St. Aggie’s from their evil overlords. |
